Born in the rural parts of Kenya, where herbal remedies were the norm, Dr. Abuaba's early encounters with modern medicine ignited a passion that has shaped his exemplary medical career.
Driven by a desire to make a difference, Dr. Abuaba excelled academically, completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degree from The University of Nairobi College of Health Sciences in 2000. He began by serving as a Medical Officer in various departments across the Kenyan health sector, including
Relocating to Denver in 2006 with his wife and daughter, Dr. Abuaba seized the opportunity to immerse himself in the local medical community. During this time, his interest in geriatrics flourished, paving the way for a transformative move to New York in 2008 to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine.
He received his board certification in Internal Medicine in 2011.
In 2016, Dr. Abuaba, alongside his wife, founded Destiny Internal Medicine and Post Acute Care Services PC - a healthcare institution that has since become a cornerstone of healthcare services in Colorado. Mercy was born and raised in rural Kenya. She grew up observing her mother’s caring demeanor for people, and especially helping villagers who were in need. Mercy credits her mother as her defining inspiration for the care and compassion she now shows her patients.
In 2006 when the opportunity arose to practice nursing in the US, Mercy moved to Colorado along with her husband and young daughter. Since then, she’s embraced new experiences and challenges as they came her way, her dedication to patient care and her drive to move forward unwavering through it all.
Amidst raising her children, her eldest daughter and a pair of twins, Mercy committed to furthering her education. She studied tirelessly and earned a Masters and Doctorate degree.
In her spare time, Mercy continues to care for and hang out with her family and friends, as well as making time for her continuous pursuit of knowledge, her love of creativity, and enjoying a hike or two.
